Karen R. Jenkins, is a distinguished leader in the field of organizational growth and human capital consulting. She serves as the President and CEO of KRJ Consulting, an acclaimed firm that specializes in transforming leaders, integrating cultures, and expanding organizational capacity. With a career spanning over three decades, Karen is a recognized leader, speaker, author, and trusted consultant, making a significant impact in both the federal and corporate sectors.
Beyond her expertise in leadership, Karen is also a financial expert, having served as a financial media consultant for the NBC affiliate WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina. In 2010, she published her first book, “Nobody Told Me!” The Path to Financial Empowerment, offering valuable insights on financial literacy and empowerment.
Karen’s commitment extends to her community involvement. In 2023, she was appointed as the Chairwoman for the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and to the SC Chamber of Commerce Executive Board of Directors, where she serves as the Small Business Committee Chair. She was also named to the National Small Business Association Leadership Council in 2022. Karen is an active member of the Women President’s Organization and Vistage, demonstrating her dedication to fostering connections and growth within the business community.
Among her numerous accolades, Karen was honored as the 2020 Richland County Library Entrepreneur-in-Residence and was recognized as a 2020 Columbia Regional Business Report Icon. In 2019, she was named the South Carolina Female Small Businessperson of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration South Carolina District Office and received the “A Woman of the Year” award from Enterprising Women Magazine.
Karen’s commitment to continuous learning is evident through her completion of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program and the Wharton School Corporate Governance program, where she honed her skills in maximizing effectiveness in the boardroom.
